Miss Jasmine Yoon, a student at Rocky Run Intermediate School competed in Fairfax Lions Club’s Peace Poster contest – and her peace poster won $50. Jasmin’s poster then went on to compete in the Northern Virginia Lion’s district. The district winning poster was again Jasmin Yoon’s (selected by the W. T.Woodson Art Honor Society). Jasmin was awarded $100 in this competitin. Jasmin’s Peace Poster advanced to the Lion’s State of Virginia competition. Members of the Fluvanna County Arts Association judged Peace Poster entries on December 10. The winner, once again, was Jasmin Yoon. Her poster has now advanced to the Lions International competition, where one grand prize winner and 23 merit awards winners will be selected. The grand prize winner will receive a cash award of $5000 at the 38th Annual Lions’ Day at the United Nations on Saturday, March 12. We wish Jasmine the best of luck for her outstanding Peace Poster, and wish her a most successfukl future.
