Main Street Child Development Center mailed a bunch of thank you notes from families receiving holiday meals, and this nice composite photo…

Fairfax Lions watched a video at the Nov 21 dinner meeting; the topic, Eyeglass Recycling. Lions across the world work together recycling used eyeglasses which are then issued to people in-need in over 72 countries. Especially needed are children’s glasses.

On Nov 20th, the Monday before Thanksgiving, eight Fairfax lions met at Main Street Child Development Center and assembled 30 food baskets. Thirty qualified local families pick up their food baskets at Main Street for the holiday. It’s great to help provide a wonderful meal for Thanksgiving…We serve!
Fairfax Lions Club completed its major charity fund raiser, our citrus fruit sale over November 16-18. We encouraged folks to order/pre-pay on-line, and the processes worked great! We still had some mandarins, naval oranges and grapefruit – along with VA peanuts and Vermont maple syrup – for sale at the sales site. At closing, 6-cases of un-sold oranges were donated to Food For Others. We thank our great customers for supporting the Lions Club! Be sure to order now for the December sale! ORDER
Dan Visone, who joined Lions at age 17, told us how he learned leadership skills while served in various Lions Club officer positions. In addition to serving his community as a Lion, Dan applied skills he learned to achieve success in his career with the Army’s Geospatial Center.
Dan emphasized the importance of adapting the culture of each Lions Club to the passions and interests of its members. Fairfax Lions Club is proud to align its annual service programs to its member’s interests!
